NEWCOMER ENGAGEMENT

Rural Ontario Institute’s recently completed study of Newcomer Engagement in Dufferin, Huron and Northumberland Counties.

This research identified four key recommendations for enhancing newcomer engagement and building social capital in rural communities. The research suggests all stakeholders will benefit by strengthening their efforts in four essential areas:

1. Provide intentional community leadership
2. Reduce system barriers
3. Build relationships
4. Develop robust support systems

The Spotlight on Dufferin County video can be watched here

A report, video and infographic is available for each county and for the study as a whole at: http://www.platinumleadership.com/resources.shtml#Evaluation
