A Story by Lori

“A Homegrown Story” what a perfect name to describe a wonderful experience for the Early Childhood Educators in Dufferin County! The profession of Early Childhood Education is one of tremendous reward, dedication, hard work and challenges. It is always a wonderful experience when we can gather as a community of educators to play, engage and share time together. This year we spent a magical night at MoD (Museum of Dufferin). We got to explore the Museum and the highlight for me was learning new insights with representatives for the Indigenous Centre of Excellence. Some of the comments I heard from those in attendance was “It felt like a family reunion”, “What a great night of reflection and conversation.”

As a lifelong resident of Dufferin County and practicing RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator) for over 35 years I am filled with a sense of pride and belonging to be part of a collaborative learning community. Each day I get to spend time with amazing little humans, families and fellow educators. A privilege I do not take lightly!

Respectfully Submitted,
Lori Bryan, RECE
Supervisor of Jean Hamlyn Child Care Centre
