More than 30 local agencies introduce updated Community Safety and Well-Being Plan to create safer, healthier and more inclusive communities in Dufferin County
The Dufferin County Community Safety and Well-Being Integration Table is excited to introduce its 2025 to 2028 Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.
The Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan is a framework that will help ensure that residents of Dufferin County are safe, healthy, connected and have access to essential services. The 2025 to 2028 Plan builds upon the 2021 to 2024 Plan and outlines the Integration Table’s approach for the next four years.
Following extensive community engagement that kicked off in December 2023, five priority areas were identified for the updated Plan:
- Community Safety
- Housing and Homelessness
- Mental Health and Well-Being
- Family Support
- Food Insecurity
About the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan
More than 30 local organizations are working together as the Dufferin County Community Safety and Well-Being Integration Table.
The group created Dufferin’s initial CSWB Plan based on local data and information and community consultation.
The updated priority areas were identified using a similar process, based on public input, partner data and sense-making findings.

About the CSWB Plan community engagement
In December 2023, the Dufferin County Community Safety and Well-Being Integration Table launched a comprehensive public survey aimed at gathering insights to improve quality of life in the community. This engagement was a rare opportunity to go beyond census division stats and get very local data and perspectives that can be used to find local solutions.
The data collected from survey responses was analyzed and distributed to the Integration Table for input.
In November 2024, the Integration Table held a Data Deep Dive with community partners to discuss the results of the survey and add relevant data from key sources like the County, Dufferin OPP and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. In Conversation Circles, event attendees examined trends and interpreted, validated and challenged survey results to establish new insights.
As a final step, the Integration Table had two sense-making meetings to discuss the Data Deep Dive. These sessions helped transition the Table’s focus from sense-making to prioritizing and planning for the final Plan.
The CSWB Plan for 2025 to 2028 was approved by Dufferin County Council in May and delegations have been made to all the lower-tier municipalities.
Next steps
Going forward, the Integration Table will continue to socialize the plan through presentations to various groups and will provide an annual report to Dufferin County Council that will include an annual Action Plan for the subsequent year. Action Plans will provide a brief outline of current Plan actions and/or updates for the year to come.
