Reduced Load Restrictions
Reduced load restrictions will begin on Dufferin County roads on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Reduced load restrictions will remain in effect until further notice. During this time, there is a restriction of 5 metric tonnes per axle.
Under By-Law 2005-32, the County of Dufferin enforces reduced load restrictions on trucks to protect County roads during spring thaw, when road damage is most likely to occur.
Live updates can be found on the Municipal 511, which can be accessed by clicking here.

Dufferin County reduced load restrictions (5 tonnes per axle) occur based on weather and road conditions, and are generally in effect seasonally from March 1 – May 15. This coverage period may be adjusted for weather conditions. Our member Municipalities control their own road load restrictions on municipal roads (Sideroads, Lines and Concessions etc.). Please contact their offices directly for restrictions.
