South Western Integrated Fibre Technology
SWIFT (South Western Integrated Fibre Technology) is a regional broadband expansion project initiated by the Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus and delivered in partnership with member municipalities, including Dufferin County and the government of Ontario and Canada. This project is committed to improving access to high-speed internet services across Southwestern Ontario.
SWIFT subsidizes the construction of open-access high-speed networks to encourage service providers to expand broadband infrastructure in underserved rural areas in an effort to enable greater digital equality between rural and urban populations.
Dedicated to bringing improved internet connectivity to Southwestern Ontario, as of 2023 SWIFT has awarded 97 (ninety-seven) contracts to 19 (nineteen) unique Internet Service Providers.
SWIFT continues to work in Dufferin County. Interested in learning if you are located in a SWIFT funded project area? Use the buttons below to learn more about SWIFT.
