Dufferin County has seasonal reminders for County road users
As Dufferin County’s Operations and Fleet team begins its spring cleanup of County roads, it’s reminding County road users of some seasonal reminders to help keep the community safe.
Spring sweeping and bridge washing
Spring sweeping operations are underway across the County road network. Road users should exercise caution around crews and equipment and avoid parking on shoulders or boulevards when possible during active sweeping.
Bridge washing is also commencing to remove winter salt and debris from bridge structures. Motorists may encounter intermittent lane restrictions or slow-moving operations in these areas. Please be patient and prioritize safety.
How to report road issues
Freeze-thaw cycles and winter conditions may have contributed to potholes and shoulder deterioration on County roads. The County’s crews are actively inspecting and addressing deficiencies as weather and asphalt plant availability permit.
Road users can report any road concerns such as potholes, drainage issues, damaged signs or debris through the County’s regular reporting channels so they can be triaged promptly. Please reach out to the County at 519-941-2816 ext. 2600 or publicworks@dufferincounty.ca to report any issues.
Share our roads
As agricultural activity increases, motorists should expect slow-moving farm equipment on rural roads and drive with patience and caution. Road users can learn more about sharing our roads and keeping our community safe here.
