Here are the highlights of the August 13 meeting:

Dufferin County Council received the Chief Administrative Officer’s report “Municipal Program Review: Path Forward” and acknowledged the completion of the Municipal Program Review.

The Municipal Program Review looked at County programs, services, staffing, costs, and ways to improve how work is done. It generated important discussions about service levels, staffing, risk, modernization, organizational capacity, and Council priorities. It also identified opportunities to strengthen planning, budgeting, performance measurement, resource allocation, and decision-making.

At the meeting, County Council approved 12 additional items that were under review and approved all implementation timelines identified by the CAO.

The County will now incorporate lessons learned through the Municipal Program Review into future budget planning, service level planning, Strategic Plan development, Council onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives. Staff will regularly report to Council on approved Review recommendations and all outstanding items.
